OBGYN

The practice established in the 1940s consists of Dr. Steven Gelber, Dr. Kathleen Gardner, Dr. Dvorah Milner, Dr. Zohreh Abyaneh, Dr. Joan Sullivan. The group is a major provider of OBGYN services in the community of Ithaca. The office is staffed with one Nurse Practitioner and 5 midwives. They provide general Obstetric and Gynecologic care including low and high risk pregnancy, infertility, cancer screening, menopause counseling, contraception and most other womens health care. Call coverage for the opportunity is 1:5 weekdays and 1:6 weekends. Ithaca boasts wonderful schools and is a great place to live, work and raise children. Consistently ranked high in outdoor living magazines the community is known for its athletic clubs and pursuits including: running, hiking trails, boating, swimming, fishing, sailing, snow shoeing, skiing and camping. Cornell and Ithaca College keep the area rich in arts and entertainment but the lake, waterfalls, and many gorges make the setting picture perfect. Cayuga Medical Center offers a Level II nursery and approximately 850 deliveries a year. One Neonatologist is on staff and anesthesiologists currently perform epidurals on OB patients. The Radiology Department provides all mediums of diagnostic imaging, including PET Scans, CAT scan, Dexa scan, ultrasound, nuclear imaging, MRI, and mammography.
