In this role, the selected candidate will educate engineers and technicians in good measuring practice. Work with outside vendors to coordinate testing and measurement development. Job Title: OGP SmartScope ProgrammerLocation: Franklin Lakes, NJDuration: Long-termResponsibilities: In support of product development: Develop measurement procedures for new product componentsAssist in design and testing of measurement fixturesConduct and analyze R&R studiesMeasure partsAnalyze measurement data/summarize and write reportsTransfer measurement procedures to manufacturing plantsEducate engineers and technicians in good measuring practiceIn support of laboratory development: Work with outside vendors to coordinate testing and measurement developmentCoordinate calibration activities and ensure records are properly maintainedExecute preventive maintenance on lab equipmentAssist in validations of new equipmentWork to enhance good manufacturing and good laboratory practicesComply with all local, state, federal, and safety regulations, policies, and proceduresComply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principlesPerform other duties as assigned Required Skills3 - 5years direct OGP programming experience with a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline,5 - 10years direct OGP programming experience with a High School diplomaExperience with programming languages a plus, especially Python.Knowledge of the operation of measurement equipment and measurement fundamentals required:Traceability, Repeatability, UncertaintyGeometry, VectorsUnit ConversionCause-Effect/What-If AnalysisAbility to understand, explain, and challenge engineering drawings:Application of ASME Y14.5 GD&TTolerance stack-upTheoretical featuresSkilled use of Microsoft Office Suite required:Microsoft Word for generating test summary reports, setup instructions, and general documentationMicrosoft Excel for generating measurement data reports and graphsMicrosoft PowerPoint for illustrating geometric measurement concepts and presenting information to team members and external partiesGood technical writing skills in English required, Spanish or other foreign language a plus.Ability to work independently after receiving appropriate directionCareful, deliberate, disciplined, meticulous, and organized in performing laboratory tests and recording resultsGood interpersonal and communication skills via email, phone, and in-person collaborationProven ability to quickly learn new subject matterProblem-solving and optimization abilitiesKnowledge of statistical analysis desirableAble to lift 50 pounds License/Certifications:Certified training in OGP MeasureMindGDTP Certification a plusA2LA or similar Calibration Certification a plusSpecial Skills: Demonstrated experience in programming OGP SmartScope employing use of the following tools:Software: OGP MeasureMind, ICE, Prolink QC-Calc, MinitabConcepts: Base Alignments/Datums, Palletizing/Part Repeat, Probing Strategy, Advanced Weak Edge Settings, Type 1/GR&R Studies
