The Operational Intelligence Center is actively seeking a data administrator professional to manage data as it relates to data collection, validation, processing, and integration with existing system applications utilizing a Microsoft SQL database environment.


Additional responsibilities of the OIC Data Administration position include, but not limited to the following:


Duties and Responsibilities:


The incumbent will establish, manage, and automate data collection processes and procedures, create and maintain automated reporting tools, and provide general support regarding data management. The incumbent will work with existing applications to integrate new data, establish archival procedures, and develop custom reporting through Crystal Reports and support the organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing and maintaining information technologies.

* Creates and manages a data management strategy as it relates to the data used by the applications in the center and the distributed data owners in the field.This includes the automation of data collection, data validation, and effective data integration into existing databases. * Management of Microsoft SQL databases (production and development environments) to include, but not limited to, data backup, replication, and restoring, archival of specific datasets as required for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, and the overall health and security of databases. * Build and maintain reporting mechanisms in support of intelligence analysts utilizing Crystal Reports . * Provide assistance in server and database support to applications utilized in the operations center and assisting with troubleshooting of server applications through critical thinking skills. * Act as the project manager for data management related projects. * Maintains quality of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. * Verifies application results by conducting system audits of implanted technologies. * Maintain positive relationships with two different IT departments. * Ensure best practices regarding database management and cyber are met. * Respond to outage emergencies and coordinate response activities between the center, providers, and IT departments. * Act as the designated IT point of contact for system providers and chair meetings with system providers and IT representatives as well as maintain vendor relations and platform evaluation. * Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. * Develop and maintain SharePoint pages based upon operational and data management needs.



Position Requirements

Job Requirements

* Proven work experience as a data base administrator, IT manager, or relevant experience * Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and of computer hardware/software systems * Knowledgeable in platforms such as LAMP (Linux, apache, MySQL, PHP) or WAMP (Windows, apache, MySQL, PHP) * BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field or six years of experience * Certified MCDA preferred * At least two years of experience as a database administrator * At least two years of experience with creating and managing data collection, validation, and implementation in a Microsoft SQL environment * Experience in building and maintaining reports utilizing Crystal Reports connected to at least two databases * Experience in building and maintaining SharePoint

Difficulty of Work

* Works in a command center and office environment * Must be able to lift and move computers, monitors, and other computer related items * Ability to work in and around workstations, network closets, and data centers to provide desktop/wiring support * Must be on-call to provide outage support
