POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

*

Responsible for all aspects of Occupational Therapy (OT) service delivery including evaluation, intervention planning, implementation, and reviewing outcome evaluation.
*

The Occupational Therapist is an active participant in the interdisciplinary team.
*

Our department includes graduate academic and clinical occupational therapy programs in acute care medicine, inpatient psychiatry, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation, including services for pediatrics and adult injuries.



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:



*

Directs the evaluation process including determining the need for services, defines problems within the domain of OT, determines goals, and establishes treatment priorities
*

Develops the intervention plan in collaboration with all team members.
*

Implements the intervention plan.
*

Selects, implements and makes modifications to therapeutic activities and interventions that are consistent with patient goals and the patient s socio-cultural context.
*

Demonstrates ability to safely lift and/or move therapy equipment.
*

Demonstrates the ICARE values with patients, colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members. Participates in continuous quality improvement processes and program evaluation.
*

Supports the practice of practitioner-teacher-investigator model by teaching and following evidenced based practice.



POSITION QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:



*

Graduate of an accredited ACOTE OT Program
*

Certification by NBCOT as an OTR
*

Meets all state regulatory requirements
*

Basic computer skills
*

Must be able to physically hand carry items throughout medical center complex
*

Ability to lift, carry, move items up to 20 pounds
*

Must be able to stand, walk, lift and push while assisting with patient care
