VCU Health Systems OT Acute Care is seeking an hourly Occupational Therapist to conduct evaluations on referred patients. To plan and implement a comprehensive treatment program that includes discharge planning, patient/family education, and recommendations for follow-up or continued care. To document results of the OT evaluation and services provided in accordance with hospital and department guidelines. To participate as a member of a self-directed departmental team as well as a member of an interdisciplinary patient care team. May provide clinical instruction to OT and OTA students as needed. May provide training and education to department and hospital staff. ResponsibilitiesEvaluation and treatment of patients with routine diagnoses.Setting schedule and managing time. Reporting in interdisciplinary rounds.Goal setting for routine diagnoses. Completion of routine documentation.Interaction with the interdisciplinary team and self-directed work team. Customer interaction.Occupational Therapist provides supervision for Rehab Technician, COTA staff, volunteers and students doing clinical rotations.Cross-coverage to other treatment teams as needed.Saturday/holiday coverage on a rotating basis and flexibility in work hours as needed to accommodate departmental needs as applicable. Qualifications RequiredGraduate of an accredited School of Occupational TherapyLicensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational TherapistCurrent CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice areaMinimum of 1 year of work experience as an Occupational Therapist PreferredMasters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Occupational TherapySuccessful challenge of the VCUHS Occupational Therapy Clinical LadderPrevious experience with evaluations and interventions (physical and psycho-social)
PRN 1: Days Licensed (or eligible) as an Occupational Therapist in VA Computer skills are required Customer service skills are required Excellent communication skills are required Experience is required
