Reporting to the Director of UCLA DOM Operations for the northwest practices and the Manager of the assigned practice, the administrative specialist will oversee the patient care support functions of the assigned practice. Responsible for coordination of clinical services, assisting with personnel, policy and procedure recommendations for a complex practice under the Department of Medicine, including various sub-specialties and other Departments. Serve as liaison for the Department of Radiology and other Departments working within the assigned practice. Responsibility will include overseeing patient flow throughout the clinic, strong understanding of various healthcare plans including manage care organizations and overseeing cash collections for patient copayments.


Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify patterns and formulate conclusions. Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities. Accounting skills to plan, prepare and analyze complete revenue and expense budgets. Demonstrated ability to creatively integrate competing demands of a multidisciplinary setting into a productive working environment. Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems and proposals in both formal and informal settings. Working knowledge of University policies and procedures to appropriately manage accounting systems, cashiering, risk management and personnel. Previous demonstrated expertise in managing patient s services and nursing staff. Travel to other clinic practices as needed.
