Job Title: OFFSHORE FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Location: BATON ROUGE, LA
Reports To: SERVICE MANAGER
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Lead Technician, is responsible for assisting in the disassembly, inspection, assembly, and testing of a variety of Pressure Relief Devices both onshore and offshore. Position requires the ability and desire to work an offshore GOM rotation along with occasional in shop repair and service. Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from pick up site, and the ability to travel by boat or helicopter.
Perform pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, and assembly on various types of direct and/or pilot operated Pressure Relief Devices in a field setting.
Must be able to read and interpret various part drawings, customer specifications and valve assembly and maintenance instructions.
Must understand and follow pertinent Pentair Valves & Controls policies and procedures relative to all assigned duties and responsibilities.
Must be customer oriented and willing to work overtime as required. Understanding this may involve evening and weekend call in, often times with very little notice.
Establishes and maintains acceptable attendance habits.
Must be willing and capable of working offshore and onshore for extended periods of time.
Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements & Skills
Physical tasks include walking, grasping, carrying, lifting, seeing, hand-eye coordination, listening, and writing, speaking and traveling.
Mental tasks include reading, interpreting, analyzing, calculating, measuring and communicating.
Perform product testing, lifting and installing product weighing 35 lbs.,
Work is performed offshore and also onshore.
Work which occasionally produces a high level of mental/visual fatigue, periodically performed under pressure, requiring intense mental application and attention to detail.
Frequent exposure to one or more unpleasant (noise, heat, dust, etc.) or hazardous conditions 21-50% of work time.
Ability to perform all task safely
