Job Overview
Black Box has an opportunity for an Avaya Red Technician with our client in Las Vegas, NV to increases customer value by providing consultative technical support relating to configuration, upgrade, and migration of company products, services and solutions. Ensures optimum installation and provides a smooth transition from the sales process into subsequent phases.


* Ensures optimum installation and provides a smooth transition from the sales process into subsequent phases.

* Works with customers to identify system programming requirements and converts that information into performance functionality. Configures and programs software products such as trunking, network, routing, administrative utilities and messaging. Tests and validates installations.

* Communicates with customers regarding database information, product and application configuration, and customer expectations for due dates. Works with customers and carrier(s) to order, provision and test voice and data services.

* Provides system administration and end-user product training on core products.

* Works closely with internal resources in Sales, Engineering, Project Management and Service to ensure cross functional objectives and customer satisfaction goals are achieved. Escalates product issues to internal engineers/technicians or channel partners for resolution.

* Troubleshoots critical maintenance problems remotely and on-site if necessary.

* Coordinates and maintains internal and external documentation relating to projects.


* 5-7 years of related experience on Avaya Blue and Red product line Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

* Hospitality experience required

* Experience transitioning enterprise clients from Avaya Blue to Red strongly preferred

* Certifications for on-site equipment strongly preferred including Avaya Communications Manager, Avaya Aura Messaging, Avaya Aura Contact Center, Avaya Aura Session Manager

* Strong working knowledge in the following industry-related areas: Software products and applications, client/server applications, desktop software applications, software patching, networking routers and modems

* Strong customer service, communication and organization skills

* Project management and experience leading teams preferred

* Good presentation and training skills

* Good problem-solving skills

* Shift flexibility, ability to work required OT, must be on-call
