The OnCommand Insight sales representative is principally responsible for driving sales activity for a defined geography and set of accounts for the portfolio of OnCommand Insight software offerings. You will be responsible for developing territory and account selling strategies and shorter term plans to meet aggressive revenue goals. You must be extremely results driven, customer focused, skilled at enterprise software infrastructure sales, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships.
This position will report to the OnCommand Insight East District Manager.
Promoting and driving OnCommand Insight application and business solutions which align to NetApp s strategic technologies, including messaging and technical differentiation.
Serving in advocacy role to the OnCommand Insight business unit by providing customer-based requirements and feedback.
Aligning OnCommand Insight sales team to meet Area business needs across the Americas
Establishing short-term and long-term goals and achieving quotas in line with corporate objectives.
Business, market & pipeline development
Forecasting to meet monthly and quarterly goals and objectives
Establishing an effective communication methodology between OnCommand Insight team and the NetApp field sales and leadership team
Teaming with the Systems Engineering organization to produce business impact profiles that enable the entire Area sales and SE organization to be aware of solution architectures that are being delivered
Participating in strategic planning sessions with the sales management team on a quarterly and annual basis.
Defining territory plans that include new account acquisition, marketing program development, partner strategy, and customer satisfaction.
Identifying needed resources for supporting territory growth, sales strategy.
Keeping management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.
The OnCommand Insight sales specialist needs to have a strong personality who is familiar with working in a cross functional sales environment. The ideal individual will have had at least 7 years of enterprise software sales experience and be highly self-motivated and solutions focused. Overall, excellent leadership, planning and organizational skills are a must; effective communication skills both verbal and written on all levels in the organization; ability to learn quickly; manage multiple commitments; identify and resolve technology and business process problems. Delegation of certain assignments and self-empowerment are both key attributes of this assignment.
The person has to be familiar with developing a business plan in conjunction with these cross functional groups. A strong analytical ability is important in order to understand customer requests and to be able to develop and discuss solutions. This role requires a team-player who can work with the Area sales leadership and sales teams while being a leader and an advocate for OnCommand Insight
Summary of Requirements:
7+ years experience in a direct sales role selling large scale enterprise software
Ability to grasp new technologies and build strong competitive sales approach
Strong understanding of enterprise computing, storage and storage management technologies and competitive offerings in the marketplace
Strategic Planning as well as tactical sales execution skills
An aptitude for understanding how software solutions help solve business problems through an ROI sales model
Strong analytical skills
Strong negotiating and relationship building
Ability to work with multiple teams within an organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills
Creative thinker, with a can-do attitude
Strong business development capabilities
Highly self-motivated and proven track record
