The Onsite Program Manager will be located onsite at Pratt & Whitney, in the Hartford, Connecticut location, and will be responsible for representing Goodrich Senior Leadership as the primary interface and focal point for a specific and significant customer with respect to nacelle and engine technical issues and program management. Responsibilities will also include facilitating day-to-day customer activities for Goodrich Aerostructures and cross SBU (Single Business Units) interactions as well as relationship management between all parties. This position will require frequent travel to Goodrich Aerostructures sites both domestically an internationally and occasionally to suppliers and airframers.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace Preferred) and 10 years relevant experience or a Masters Degree and 8 years of relevant Program Managements and Customer Support experience.
The following skills are preferred to ensure success in this position:
*Demonstrated acumen in managing development programs in aircraft engines, nacelles, or related aerostructures.
*Aerospace industry knowledge of products and general business processes and their relationship to specific supplier and customer support activities.
*Ability to create and deliver presentations to upper management (Up to President Level) and external audiences including topics of customer performance.
*Excellent written and positive verbal customer communication skills with various levels of personnel (internal and external), and holds self to a high standard of professionalism and portrays a positive and professional Goodrich image in front of the customer at all levels and at all times.
*Demonstrated Lean or Toyota Production System knowledge and ability to apply the tools on a daily basis is his or her job is preferred, as well as a strong continuous improvement mind set.
*Provide front line support to ensure Goodrich Aerostructures value streams achieve success in their business relations with customer.
*Manage relationship with customer to support growth and ensure service levels and customer satisfaction.
*Ability to build and support strong customer relationship that creates loyalty to Goodrich services provided.
*Provide customers with valuable interface; customer acknowledges that add value to the product development, deliverables and overall customer satisfaction.
*Serves as the communication link ('bridging conduit') between the customer and Goodrich.
*Ability to provide problem resolution / authority and responsibility to resolve problems at the site level
*Establish resolution priorities at the customers and own the problem resolution process.
*Ability to escalate and effective communicate a problem to the appropriate level within Goodrich and customer and see the issue through resolution.
*Negotiation and conflict resolution skills required as well as the ability to think 'on the fly' during customer meetings.
*Due to ITAR and Export Control requirements this position requires all candidates to be a US Citizen or current Green Card Holder.
