Job Description

Position is on the staff of a government consulting firm located in Mclean, Virginia. The Journeyman OCS Specialist will apply tactical OCS experiences to provide inputs and value to OCS guidance, doctrine, training, education, and governing authorities. Work will be performed off-site at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide staff support. Plan and coordinate approximately two OCS conferences per year. Adjust to rapid shifts in priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously that may relate to current operations. Lead and administer the joint lessons learned program for OCS. Interpret, synthesize, and present lessons learned findings and recommendations (both orally and in writing) to mid-grade military and civilian staff officers. Assist senior analysts with developing, editing, and reviewing Chairman�� s manuals, instructions, directives, joint doctrine, and uniform joint tasks as they relate to OCS. Apply tactical knowledge, skills, and ability to research and to conduct process analysis and studies for OCS. Assist with delivery of products from all phases of the Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) for OCS for both current requirements and future concepts. Identify and recommend affordable improvements and innovation in joint OCS planning and execution systems, in OCS joint readiness, and in Combatant Command capability. Assist in developing OCS measures of success, metrics, planning factors, templates, and methodologies that enable OCS planning and execution in Combatant Commands.

Requirements:


-Bachelor�� s degree and a minimum of 4 years related experience in contingency contracting or in joint planning, or
-No degree and a minimum of 10 years related Operational Contract Support (OCS) experience in contingency contracting or in joint planning.
-Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and project management software within the Microsoft Office suite.
-Top Secret Clearance. Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with current security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. Please note that only US Citizens are eligible for a DoD security clearance.
-Available for occasional travel.
-Basic knowledge of FAR/DFARS as applied in contingency contracting environments. Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II or III certification in contracting is desired, OR a basic skill set in joint or Service operational planning.
-Basic/working knowledge of the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), the Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES), or the emerging Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) system to include more detailed knowledge of CONPLAN/OPLAN development, particularly with regard to Annex W, is desired.
-No relocation assistance will be provided.
