JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for evaluating and prioritizing maintenance activities to minimize costs and risk to customer supply, coordinating all major and minor maintenance activities across the Zone; includes driving the Maintenance Work Process (Linde Maintain), driving the adherence to spending/project plans, all while ensuring the Production Work Process (Linde Operate) stays in alignment and customers are satisfied.
Liasion with Area Maintenance Planning Engineer for major plant turnaround executive; includes assuring planning, scheduling, finance, and execution work streams are properly coordinated and driven.
Accountable for work notification prioritization, accuracy and content.
Responsible for communicating with Operations and Area Maintenance Planning Engineer.
Responsible for Driving, on a task level, the critical items that support the Maintenance Work Process; weekly scheduling and planning sessions, safety and policy reviews that support accurate and efficient work execution (work permitting, loto, MOC, PSSR, training of newly installed kit, etc.).
Understand and adhere to company safe work policies.
Follow Lone Worker Requirements.
Promote a safe work environment.
Report safety incidents and near misses.
Report any unsafe conditions, environmental concerns and process problems to management immediately
Contribute to the improvement of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality programs.
Apply the HWP process, LOTO and energy isolation procedures as required for company and contractor personnel.
Follow EMOC procedure for all changes to process and operating procedures.
Maintain site security.
Maintain site orderliness.
Perform safety indoctrinations for contractors.
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP) to execute, document and continuously improve equipment preventative and corrective maintenance strategy.
Support Zone Production Managers, utilize Web Audit Manager and incident reporting system to execute, document all corrective actions issued to the site from Audits and Incidents review (when applicable).
Work with Area Support to collect and interpret trends in equipment condition monitoring data.
Assist Zones to Maintain plant spares inventory and raise gaps to management attention.
Ensure timely performance dialogue with GMS based on defined KPIs (PM compliance, Schedule Adherence, Wrench time)
Follow work instructions and annotate with feedback.
Work with Area Support personnel to test, inspect, troubleshoot and repair machines and equipment.
Oversee set up and safe operation of all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
Effectively prioritize and schedule all work activities for multiple sites.
Estimate job costs to monitor planned work. Work with contractors to optimize
Participate in Root Cause Analysis investigations
Administrative and Managerial
Follow all Quality Control requirements to ensure a quality product is delivered to Linde s customers. Meet FDA requirements where applicable.
Maintain a Shutdown and Turnaround work list and schedule in SAP for efficient use of downtime.
Maintain open continuous line of communication with manager.
Complete required SHEQ site and equipment inspection forms.
Maintain orderly and clean work area and vehicle(s).
Direct and monitor contractors.
Review and close out GMS Work Orders in SAP
Act as primary point of contact between Zone Production Managers, reliability team, and GMS Contractors
Lead and participate in operations and safety meetings.
Participate in safety committee activities as required drill planning, energy isolation reviews, etc.
Complete all training activities according to schedule and meet annual performance goals.
Support entry level technicians through coaching and mentoring.
Check business email daily.
Lead Plant tours.
Accept On call duty and overtime as required.
Effectively prioritize and schedule all work activities.
Support sites outside of the home Area as required.
Support plant and equipment commissioning activities.
Mark-up engineering drawings to document changes or disparities and control through the EMOC process.
Identify cost effective solutions, follow company purchasing procedure and spending limitations.
Process Operation and Efficiency:
Monitor key process parameters (including power) to ensure overall reliability of plant operations in zone. Maintain production records and logs. Diagnose and remedy process problems
Safely and Efficiently supervise and conduct plant start-up and shut-down operations in accordance with approved site work instructions
Support the production plan interface with the ROC (where applicable) and the national scheduling center (NSC) (where applicable).
Ensure work instructions are adhered to.
Act as process expert and know when to escalate problems to Regional or Central levels.
Ensure compliance with corporate standards and best operating practices.
Work effectively with organization support groups to improve reliability and costs.
Follow all Quality Control requirements to ensure a quality product is delivered to Linde s customers. Meet FDA requirements (where applicable). Conduct quality assurance testing and maintain all required documentation
Serve as customer liaison when needed in resolution of operational issues.
Promote customer focus.
Manage customer reporting process (if applicable).
Provide technical support to commercial account representatives.
Support zone production manager with staff training and growth through computerized training program and performance management process.
Contribute to site security efforts through continuous observance of site security procedures.
Ensure all employees, contractors and visitors are appropriately trained.
Availability for On-call duty and other hours as required.
Bachelor Degree Engineering (Instrumentation, Electric, Mechanic or Chemical is preferred)
Minimum of 10 years experience in a related process plant operations and reliability activity
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
Able to perform duties required which may involve among other things; bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting and carrying loads of up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb to heights 200 ft above grade and work effectively.
Valid driver s license with good record.
Plant leadership experience in operations and/or maintenance
Fluent in use of SAP PM, understands maintenance workflow.
Personal computer proficiency (Internet, word processing, spreadsheets), and other software used by the company.
Strong interpersonal abilities to support team philosophy and strategy.
Strong interpersonal abilities to support mentoring/coaching activities.
Strong organizational ability.
Able to work alone.
High mechanical aptitude.
Comprehensive knowledge of applicable chemical manufacturing process and hazards within area or site.
Familiar with all process equipment and function.
Understanding of electrical hazards and safety, and ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, with support from central engineering.
Basic understanding of pneumatically actuated valves and control systems.
Understanding of all trip and interlock logic protecting people and equipment.
