The Operations Manager will support the Neuroregenerative Medicine Program. This position impacts the management, planning, development, budget and other administrative activities of the Program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the development of three core facilities to be created within the Center for Neuro Regenerative Medicine. Specifically help identify technical or faculty leaders, space and equipment for the following cores: 1) neural systems modeling/surgical core, 2) cell reprogramming core, and 3) fabrication laboratory. Work with existing center directors to prevent overlap and to identify cooperative resources.
Serve as liaison between other center directors including The Immunobiology Research Center, Center for Cardiovascular Regeneration, and others TBA.
Attend regular meetings at the Center for Neuro Regenerative Medicine whenever feasible. You may need to travel to other programs to learn about strategies and organizational style. Your position may require attendance or specialized training for program development.
Works with the Houston Methodist Foundation to help brand the Program and facilitate fundraising.
Assists the Program Director in establishing a regenerative medicine training program.
Coordinates the resources and activities in collaboration with other departments, programs, and labs at Houston Methodist and partnering institutions.
Additional administrative tasks, as assigned by the Program Director.
Bachelor's degree in basic science, business, hospital/healthcare administration or a related field required. Master's degree in science, business, hospital/healthcare administration or a related field preferred.
Five years of experience in a healthcare professional/administrative capacity. Preferred experience in laboratory management.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Grasp of neurobiology and exposure to academic research is ideal.
2. Expertise in project management, power point presentations, excel charting and data analysis.
3. Friendly, outgoing persona with networking and interpersonal skills required to deal with diverse physicians and staff.
4. Strong writing and editing skills required.
5. Skilled at managing multiple projects with conflicting priorities.
6. Extremely well-organized and detail oriented.
7. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Perambulation throughout a busy laboratory is required. Must be able to see a computer monitor and type rapidly on a standard keyboard.
Environment is both a laboratory and an office setting.
