Operations Manager Needed ASAP!!!
Great Company in need of an Operations Manager who can manage and coordinate all plant(s) operations. Ensures these functions are carried out at optimum cost, in a safe operating environment, consistent with quality guidelines and regulatory requirements. Emphasizes on continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
?Facilitate the execution of daily productivity, quality and safety goals.
?Manages all production and logistics operations, at the Wilmington facility or other facilities that may be brought on line.
?Ensures that all facilities and equipment are properly maintained and upgraded as necessary through systematic maintenance and capital expenditure programs.
?Facilitate the planning and preparation needed to meet production and labeling objectives.
?Manages and supports the preparation of Operations? annual and quarterly budgets and business plan.
?Develops and regularly reviews metrics to track performance against plans.
?Develops, executes and tracks action plans to achieve operational objectives.
?Champions employee engagement by walking regularly through the production floor, by becoming acquainted with all members of the labor force, and by providing a visible presence to all operations departments.
?Ensure facility complies with sanitation program as well as housekeeping rules set forth by the company
?Responsible for continuity of production and ensures product quality and food safety.
?Oversees continuous improvement programs for production methods, layouts, equipment, and techniques. Conducts continuous operational cost reduction programs. Uses appropriate investment analysis methods for assessing capital expenditure proposals.
?Oversee daily operations of production supervisors in production and labeling areas.
?Develops and implements Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
?Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
?Integrates new products into the manufacturing process.
?In partnership with Human Resources ensures a safe work environment for all employees.
?Develops an effective organization through selection, training, coaching, and mentoring of personnel.
?Participates in grievance resolutions meeting as prescribed by Union Agreement.
?Performs other duties as directed by the Vice President of Operations
?Plan all aspects of production and labeling to meet internal and external requirements
?Manage, train and develop team members in production and labeling.
?Perform regular housekeeping, GMP?s and PPE audits.
?Ensure product costing sheets are updated yearly and adhered to
BA/BS in industrial, mechanical, related field or business administration from a four year college or university.
Masters Degree in a related field a plus.
Experience and Background:
Ten years plant/general management experience.
10+ years experience in manufacturing environment, specifically food manufacturing. Canning preferred.
Exposure with managing a union environment.
Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
Working knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Technical skills in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance.
