Position Overview

* Lead the CPS (Ceramic Powders & Shapes) Production Team (process engineers, hourly team leaders, and operators), to establish and achieve operational goals in quality, cost, customer service, inventory control compliance and EHS.

* Lead and drive Health and Safety improvements to area processes, tasks, and procedures.

* Must promote a safe and healthy work environment.

* Lead and improve product quality initiatives using Six Sigma improvement tools, process capability techniques, and the ISO 9000 standards. Analyze, evaluate, and plan these improvements based on solid root cause/corrective action investigation

* Strategically plan staffing requirements to optimize labor efficiency.

* Identify and lead variable cost productivity projects to meet operating plan and impact business objectives.

* Manage key variable cost spending towards quarterly plans and budgets.

* Must learn product and process technologies and implement those that create a competitive edge. Changes must be implemented without interrupting customer service

* Interface with Plant Manager to achieve overall plant metrics on cost, productivity, inventory, quality, delivery, and safety

* Must satisfy corporate expectations for financial performance.

Minimum Qualifications

* Minimum 8 years of working experience in a manufacturing setting. At least three years in a Leadership role at a manufacturing site.

* Knowledge and proven understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma process, Material Flow, Quality Systems/ISO and EHS.

* Ability to motivate all levels of the organization, coach and develop a team effort for results.

* Outstanding communication skills: Verbal, written, and presentations.

* High-energy leadership and influence skills.

* Strong demonstrated organizational, analytical and problem solving skills

Education Requirements

* BS degree engineering degree/technical degree
