Job Description
Function: Engineering / Manufacturing Services
Pay Type: Exempt
Position Number: 10639421 Operations Specialist III
Employee Type: Full Time

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for helping meet enterprise wide strategic initiatives by assisting facilities in defining best practices and optimizing processes throughout the entire company. This includes staying abreast of new technologies, working closely with vendors, and establishing and maintaining interdepartmental relationships. Specific duties include establishing test procedures and working with plant personnel to validate process tools that will positively impact operations, maintenance, and sanitation; determining best practices and applying them companywide; identifying new technological advances and determining how/if they could benefit our company by reducing the Cost of Goods Sold; and statistically analyzing plant data to validate and prove best practices. Other responsibilities include coordinating and communicating with plant personnel, participating in presentations to plant level and corporate management, and performing other duties as the need arises. This position will specifically focus on food freezing applications.
Requirements:
Education: B.S. in an Engineering field or equivalent technical and applied experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years applicable engineering experience with a minimum of 4 years experience in the food industry. The ability to perform basic financial analysis, and plant and supervisory experience are desired.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Computer Skills: Competent in Excel, Word, Power Point and SAP.
Travel: Approximately 30 - 50%
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any direct reports, but will be responsible for leading cross functional teams.
