DURATION: 12 MONTHS
The Ops Intermediate Specialist within R&A reconciles the books and records of BBH & Co. clients for all security and cash positions, as well as internal groups including but not limited to brokers, advisors, agents, sub-custodians, custody, fund accounting, transfer agency and clients. S/he is a subject matter specialist typically dealing with moderately complex issues as they relate to Reconciliation & Analysis and will assist with training as well as have limited client interaction.
Utilizes BBH proprietary systems of all Operations divisions to identify nature of any discrepancies discovered.
Provides detailed commentary and coding of break to facilitate break clearance which includes likely reason the break occurred, and responsible party for resolution.
Documents workflow procedures for systemic research and provides training to new staff members.
Ensures all automated data feeds are properly posted to the reconciliation platform.
Obtains statement data through various websites, email and ftp for importation into the reconciliation platform.
Validates auto-matching routines and manually reconciles items which did not pass systemic reconciliation matching criteria.
Maintains account set-up for all new accounts.
Provides and understands the daily, weekly and monthly reports that are distributed to the internal and external clients.
Communicates with the various internal clients on any items which are out of standard via phone, email and face to face periodic meetings to ensure all aged items are being worked on through resolution.
Meets periodically with internal constituents and management teams to ensure break documentation/back-up is provided as needed.
Communicates professionally and constructively to effectively resolve any security exceptions in order to minimize risk and exposure.
Responds to complex inquiries in a timely manner.
Contributes to and maintains a high level of teamwork across all units within R&A.
Understands fundamentals of Access Databases and makes suggestions for areas in which improvement is necessary.
Assist team members with day to day activities when needed/ providing backup.
Participates in new reconciliation product tests and roll outs, as well as system upgrades to increase productivity and improve accuracy.
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience. 1 to 2years of Global Fund Accounting experience. Proven knowledge of one or more product area within Operations and its process. Ability to perform technical responsibilities of the job with a high level of competence. Aptitude for thorough and timely research, analysis and resolution of a problem. Ability to communicate professionally using effective verbal/written skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and effectively juggle assignments. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Proactive self- starter who is detail and goal oriented. Microsoft Access a PLUS
