Job Description:

Cayuga Medical Associates, PC (CMA), a growing multi-specialty group practice located in Ithaca, New York, has an immediate opening for an RPA-C or NP in its Orthopedic practice to work with the practice physicians in the following areas: Take detailed medical historyPerform pre-operative histories and physicalsClinical evaluations ability to perform complete shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot examinationsCase managementOrder and interpret X-raysPrescribe medicationsSplint and castRecord patient progress notesSurgical assistance including prepping, draping, closures, pre & post-operative care to support the needs of the practiceHospital rounds to support the needs of the practiceOn-call duties including emergency call and telephone call, to support the needs of the practiceHospital and inpatient consults in conjunction with emergency callAssist with patient flow in the officeRespond to triages and emails in a timely mannerFollows OSHA regulations, infection control policies and proceduresKnowledge of proper procedure codingKeeps physicians apprised of patients progress and/or any complications Job Requirements By nature of this profession, the provider must be able to exercise a high level of independent judgment. Additionally, candidates should possess the following traits:Exceptional service attitude and communication styleMaintains highest level of confidentialityExcellent written and verbal skillsDemonstrates clinical competency as defined by organizational standards and protocolBLS Certification Education and experienceMasters degree in an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner programRPA or NP Certification2 Years prior experience in orthopedics preferred Cayuga Medical Associates offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, and is an equal opportunity employer.
