Inpatient Coder is responsible for performing complete and accurate medical record coding. This position facilitates timely responses to billing issues between the HIM Department the Billing Dept and the Billing Office. The coder decreases accounts receivable and improves customer service by providing timely and accurate customer service for all patients. HIM Department is a multifaceted department with 24/7 operations. This position also processes public/patient and payer requests concerning medical records. This position is currently inhouse with the hospital but has future plans of going REMOTE. Must have 3 to 5 years inpatient coding experience in an acute care hospital. RHIA RHIT or CCS required.
