INERT IS LOOKING FOR A RESULTS DRIVEN OUTSIDE SALES REP

We have an exciting outside sales opportunity for an individual experienced in the sale of capital equipment, preferably to the scientific community. Founded in 1981, Inert designs, manufactures, and services glove boxes, gas management, and solvent purification systems for the world's leading universities, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies.

This position will be based in the Boston market area serving the east coast and beyond. Frequent travel is a must and you must possess the ability to travel overseas to attend trade shows as needed.

MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* generate and qualify leads within your assigned territory
* source and develop client referrals
* respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically, or in person
* prepare sales action plans and strategies
* schedulesales activity, maintain records for salesreports, and create and implement follow up procedures for this activities.
* monitor and report on sales activities and follow up for management
* develop and maintain a customer database
* plan and conduct direct marketing activities
* make sales calls to new and existing clients
* develop and make presentations of company products and services to current and potential clients
* negotiate with clients
* develop sales proposals and present sales estimates
* conduct product training
* ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships
* perform quality checks on product and service delivery
* carry out market research and surveys
* identify and participate in salesevents and trade shows
* monitor competitors, market conditions and product development
* ability to travel both domestically and internationally

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* knowledge of principles and practices of sales
* knowledge of customer service
* experience in capital equipment sales is preferred
* experience in making presentations
* proven ability to achieve sales targets
* education in or understanding of chemistry and/or chemical, electricalengineering and its applications in academic and industrial setting is an asset
