Job Description
DescriptionMcNeil Consumer Healthcare/Nutritionals, members of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, are recruiting for a Packaging Engineer. This position is located in Fort Washington, PA. McNeil Consumer Healthcare/Nutritionals flagship brands include Tylenol??, Motrin??, Pepcid??, Splenda?? among several other well known brands. The purpose of this job is to support packaging engineering functions for McNeil Consumer Healthcare/Nutritionals. This candidate will coordinate the assorted tasks related to base business support, cost improvement projects, new package development and business continuity issues. This candidate will work with a cross functional business partners that include marketing, operations, QA, technical transfer, R&D , procurement and supply chain while developing & implementing package specifications, package testing, line trials, and coordination of change control documentation. Initiatives/tasks could include but are not limited to the following; Participate in regular cross functional team meetings and ensure that key milestones are met. Support and coordinate Packaging Activities. Primary packaging contact with all relevant parties in Fort Washington, PA, Suppliers and Contract Manufacturing sites as needed. Perform package performance testing to ensure product/package compatibility with new components. Develop and update specifications for all packaging components. Develop all required information to input data into cMat (SAP) for each sku. Work with R&D to co-develop new products and packages. Work with Design to provide die-lines and for all packaging components which require graphics changes (primary, secondary and leaflet.) Serve as packaging representative on cross functional team to plan, coordinate all package engineering related functions. Work with R&D and Ops to develop any technical validation plans required to launch and support base business initiatives. Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations, the Companies' policies, procedures and guidelines, this position will be responsible to ensure quality and compliance in all actions by attending GMP training on the schedule designated for this role and as appropriate for this role. This position must adhere to strict compliance with procedures applicable to this role; must exercise the highest level of integrity in all the tasks performed; in a timely and prompt manner, identify, report and seek correction for deviations noted in the workplace and will embrace a behavior of employee involvement and commitment to doing the job right the first time.QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Package Engineering or an equivalent field is required. Related package development and engineering experience is preferred. Consumer Products or Pharmaceutical packaging experience is strongly preferred. A proven track record of delivering consistently strong results is required. In this role, Packaging Engineer will coordinate the various package development activities required to support the Nutritionals packaging. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to partner effectively across all functions and levels.
