JOB DUTIES:

Under direct supervision of nurse manager, the incumbent will perform the following patient care responsibilities and safety measures: assist patient with admission procedure; assist patients during transfer procedure; assist patients with discharge procedure; provide for patients' personal hygiene; assist with patients' excretory needs; assist patients with meals and nourishment; and assist in providing for patient safety and comfort measures on patient care units assigned.





JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to perform all physical requirements pertaining to delegated nursing, PT/OT, and RT assisted tasks. Certification of Nursing Assistant from a state approved program or demonstrated equivalency. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly using appropriate English vocabulary and grammar. Ability to understand oral and written English directives. Ability to read and write standard English text. Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (add, subtract, multiply and divide). Ability to accurately complete assigned tasks. Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely fashion. Understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations preferred. One year of experience in a hospital setting strongly preferred.

Nursing students: Completion of a Med/Surg clinical rotation from a BSN program, required
