JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties



Obtain necessary medications as documented on current patient records accurately and as needed to meeting administration times.

Prepare and distribute sterile products and IV admixtures using aseptic technique.

Prepare medication compounds according to 'recipe' once ingredients have been checked by a Registered Pharmacist.

Repackage medications for unit-of-use distribution.

Deliver medications to patient care areas as scheduled or directed by a Pharmacist in a timely fashion.

Continually update patient drug supplies and return medications to stock when no longer needed.

Replenish medication stock in all areas of the institution. Identify stock needs and inform Buyer to avoid stock outages.

Assist with daily Controlled Substances audits, reviews and delivery.

Attend to quality performance assignments.

Answer telephones in a timely manner and refer calls as necessary.

Maintain Pharmacy in a clean and organized fashion.

Receive wholesaler drug orders and place stock in assigned areas.

Assist in clerical functions.

Assist in inventory control and waste reduction.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience required:

High school diploma.

Working knowledge of the metric system

Effective oral and written English communication

* Basic algebra and arithmetic

* Typing and general computer applications



A minimum of at least 1 year prior retail/hospital technician experience is preferred.



Must have valid NJ Pharmacy Technician License and/or be currently enrolled in an accredited PharmD program (prefer 2019 or 2020 anticipated grads).



MUST be available for weekend coverage.
