JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Details:

* Certification Required
Performs blood drawing procedures on patients throughout the age continuum. Inputs lab orders and performs some laboratory testing as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Commits to the Mission, Vision and Beliefs of Crete Area Medical Center and consistently demonstrates our Core Values.
*Participates in meetings, committees and lean projects as assigned.
*Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
*Performs service excellence initiatives such as: AIDET, Key Words, Managing up, 10/5 Rule and Service Recovery when applicable.
*Performs all types of phlebotomy procedures to include; arterial, venous, and capillary draws.
*Uses sterile technique as required.
*Demonstrates knowledge of patient anatomy through proper positioning for phlebotomy procedures.
*Performs waived testing as assigned.
*Utilizes department computer system to order, review, and result patient testing.
*Participates in departmental proficiency testing as assigned.
*Cleans, disinfects, and maintains department equipment and surfaces as needed.
*Keeps department areas properly supplied.
High School diploma or equivalency required. Completion of basic or advanced phlebotomy program preferred. Prior experience performing various phlebotomy procedures preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) completed within 3 months of hire is required.
