We currently have an opening for a Physician Documentation Assistant.
The Physician Documentation Assistant provides clerical support to the staff physicians in the Emergency Department, with specific goals of improving throughput for all Emergency Room patients. The primary role of the Physician Documentation Assistant will be to work along-side the Emergency Room physician and transcribe all appropriate physician documentation and order entry based on the physician's instructions, in addition to other clerical duties. This assistance is under the direct oversight and control of the Emergency Department staff physician and the Emergency Room Nurse Manager.
* High School Diploma or GED
* Six months previous patient care or experience student in Nursing, Allied Health or Medicine. Completion of medical terminology class in Medical Assistance Program highly recommended.
* Position requires that incumbent is proficient using a computer, specifically Microsoft Office programs and data entry systems. Additionally, incumbent must be capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing workload. Experience with the order entry functionality in healthcare information systems is desired.
