JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Position Overview
Lecturers serve as either part-time or full-time (regular or temporary) members of the faculty in the School of Business. FTE is determined by the course load. Lecturers are a non-tenure track faculty position. Teaching assignments may include undergraduate and/or graduate courses offered by the School of Business on the Lawrence and/or Edwards Campus.
Lecturers serve as participating members of departments and should engage in instruction-related activities beyond direct instruction. Examples include curriculum development committees, course improvement initiatives, and advising.
Applications will be reviewed and placed in a pool to be considered for teaching positions as needed. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Appointments are one semester, renewable, subject to review and funding. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.
100%- Teach required and elective courses in finance and economics, in the undergraduate and master s program. Includes but not limited to course preparation, consultations and assignment of course grades. Lecturers should abide by the area's, School s and University's policies and procedures.
1) A master's degree in finance, economics or related field.
2) Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at undergraduate, MBA and PhD levels.
All areas of finance and economics will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with:
1) Demonstrated excellence in teaching in the above areas.
2) Ability to design and deliver new courses successfully.
3) Capability of teaching several areas of finance and economics.
