JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Overview
Lecturers serve as either part-time or full-time (regular or temporary) members of the faculty in the School of Business. FTE is determined by the course load. Lecturers are a non-tenure track faculty position. Teaching assignments may include undergraduate and/or graduate courses offered by the School of Business on the Lawrence and/or Edwards Campus.
Lecturers serve as participating members of departments and should engage in instruction-related activities beyond direct instruction. Examples include curriculum development committees, course improvement initiatives, and advising.
Applications will be reviewed and placed in a pool to be considered for teaching positions as needed. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Appointments are one semester, renewable, subject to review and funding. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.
100%-Teach required and elective courses in decision sciences and supply chain management, in the undergraduate and master's program. Includes but not limited to course preparation, consultations and assignment of course grades. Lecturers should abide by the area's, School s and University's policies and procedures.
1) A master's degree in decision sciences, operations management, supply chain management or related field.
2) Demonstrated record of high quality teaching.
1) Capability of teaching several areas of decision sciences, supply chain management, or statistics.
2) A PhD in decision sciences, operations management, supply chain management or related field.
3) Ability to design and deliver new courses successfully.
4) Strong ties to the supply chain or business analytic professional business community as demonstrated by employment or consulting activities in the field.
