JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Overview
Lecturers serve as either part-time or full-time (regular or temporary) members of the faculty in the School of Business. FTE is determined by the course load. Lecturers are a non-tenure track faculty position. Teaching assignments may include undergraduate and/or graduate courses offered by the School of Business on the Lawrence and/or Edwards Campus.
Lecturers serve as participating members of departments and should engage in instruction-related activities beyond direct instruction. Examples include curriculum development committees, course improvement initiatives, and advising.
This Lecturer Pool posting is specific to those individuals, without an advanced degree, who possess significant experience, expertise and/or achievements to provide professional instruction in a manner that brings distinction to the School of Business. Instructional areas may include: Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, Human Resources, Management, Marketing, Business Law, Ethics, Economics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, and/or Leadership.
Applications will be reviewed and placed in a pool to be considered for teaching positions as needed. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Appointments are one semester, renewable, subject to review and funding. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.
100%- Teach required or elective course(s), each semester in the School of Business. Duties include but are not limited to: course preparation, consultations, and assignment of course grades. Lecturers should abide by the area's, School's and University's policies and procedures.
* A Bachelor s degree in area of instruction or closely related field.
* At least 10 years of experience working in high-level business positions with proven track record as business leader, or at minimum of 5 years of experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
* Strong ties to the professional community as demonstrated by employment or consulting activities.
