Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company Division of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Senior Scientist/Engineer (EH&S), located in Skillman, NJ. The Senior Scientist/Engineer - Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) is responsible for leading the occupational safety and industrial hygiene program at a large R&D facility. Under the general supervision of the Manager of R&D EH&S, this role provides leadership and technical guidance to the management and employees for the establishment and maintenance of robust processes to identify, evaluate and control risk in the workplace. Principal Responsibilities: Evaluate, plan and implement comprehensive occupational safety, industrial hygiene and ergonomic programs at a research & development location. Under limited supervision, take projects requiring advanced knowledge of occupational safety, industrial hygiene and ergonomics from identification of potential risk, to analysis of the level of risk, to the implementation of appropriate control measures. Develop and deliver technical training and safety & industrial hygiene awareness programs in support of company's EHS Management System Conduct routine safety inspections and industrial hygiene reviews to ensure that the occupational safety, industrial hygiene and ergonomics programs meet all regulatory requirements and J&J policy. Partner with R&D and Facility Operations to ensure Contractor Management program meets J&J policy. Monitor the progress of management action plans associated with the site by providing leadership, technical support and professional expertise to ensure corporate, business franchise and site goals are met. Participate and assist in the coordination of Lab, Pilot Plant and Facility EHS committees and the site emergency response teamQualificationsEducation and Experience: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering Certification as a Safety Professional or Industrial Hygiene is preferred Minimum of 6 years experience in an R&D or manufacturing government regulated environment is required. Managing a site safety program is required.
