PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, NURSING DIRECTOR
In collaboration with the Associate Chief Nurse, the Nursing Director of Professional Development plans, organizes, implements and oversees clinical activities and program development to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Brigham & Womens Faulkner Hospital as well as the regulatory requirements of The Joint Commission and other federal, state and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Responsibilities include support of professional nursing practice through the planning, management of day to day operations of Professional Development to ensure quality patient care for patients in the following age groups: adolescents, adults and geriatrics. The Nursing Director of Professional Development will also support and advocate for the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.

Bachelors Degree in Nursing, required. Masters degree in nursing, M.Ed, or a related field, required. Doctoral preparation, DNP, PhD, preferred. 3-5 years of clinical practice experience, required. 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience, required. Current experience with professional development/staff education, preferred. Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure, required. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, required. Basic Life Support Instructor certification, preferred. Certification in a clinical or professional specialty, preferred. Adheres to all IC.A.R.E. Standards. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Motivated and self directed, ability to work independently. Accepting/supportive of rapid change process. Ability to work in a fast paced, clinical oriented environment that has rapid change cycles and capability to prioritize regularly. Some travel required between campuses and participation in system wide meetings (BWHC/PHS). Physical Requirements, 10-20 lbs lifting, up to 50 lbs pushing/pulling.
