JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Project Manager is a dedicated resource for the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Womens Cancer Center who will support the implementation of the DF/BWCCs strategic plan and work agenda by providing direct project staff support to a variety of cancer center initiatives. Serving as an extension of the Executive Administrative Director, the Project Manager has two primary roles: to provide direct project staff support to a variety of Cancer Center initiatives (75%) and to support the ongoing administration, including project management, of the Cancer Center (25%).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Per the work agenda set forth by the Clinical Enterprise Group and Executive Leadership Team and coordinated by the Executive Administrative Director, the Project Manager will provide direct staff support to specific cancer center initiatives. Responsibilities include teaming with DF/BWCC faculty and staff to:
-Define and establish the scope and approach/work plan for individual initiatives
-Organize and lead implementation teams, preparing agendas and facilitating collaborative work sessions to deliberate issues, make decisions and formulate recommendations
-Identify, track and report metrics for evaluating initiative impact
-Maintain comprehensive project documentation to support creation of knowledge base and identification of lessons learned/best practices
-Develop clear and concise presentations to communicate project status and recommendations to executive leadership
-Work in tandem with individual disease center administrators to maintain ongoing disease center development
-Identify opportunities and recommend approaches for improving operational efficiency and seamlessness throughout the cancer center
-Conduct research, define requirements and provide content and analytic support for key decision making and business/implementation planning
-Provide data and analytic support for reporting on key DF/BWCC performance indicators.
-Bachelors degree required, MBA or equivalent Masters Degree preferred
-Three to five years project management experience in strategy, business planning and/or implementation in a healthcare and/or consulting environment
-Demonstrated mastery of consulting skills, including:

-Direct clinical operations experience preferred, but not required

2.Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and Powerpoint

4.Problem solving skills to evaluate all aspects of a problem or opportunity and make or facilitate appropriate and timely decisions
5.Strong communication, facilitation and organizational skills, exceptional customer service
6.High degree of social facility in obtaining cooperation and support from a broad range of people
7.Proven judgment and discretion in interacting with physicians and senior management on sensitive political and confidential issues
8.Ability to focus detailed concentrated effort to multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary
9.Initiative and ability to work independently
