Job Title: Packaging Operator I
Department: Product Finishing
Provides final packaging, labeling, and quality inspection on products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Labels and packages products.
Checks appearance of products to be sure they are ready for packaging.
Assembles boxes and inserts by hand, packing tape and/or shipping tape.
Assembles accessory items (i.e. small parts kits) needed for processing a work order.
Follow packaging guidelines to ensure all product packaging requirements are met.
Processes work orders and recording defects in E21.
Works under immediate supervision and in a team environment. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Provides excellent internal customer service and maintains professional working relationships with all employees.
Effective at working in a team environment. Shares information with others, listens, and responds appropriately.
Familiarity with an MRP/ERP system, preferably E21, for processing work orders, inventory transactions, and recording defects.
Familiarity with email, word processing and spreadsheet databases.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, and six months related experience, or combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and communicate in simple sentences.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
