Packaging Sales Consultant 8/31/2016
JOB DESCRIPTIONTHE COMPANY
In 1902, Samuel Kranzberg founded TricorBraun in St. Louis as a used-bottle company. Over the years, the company has evolved by successfully acquiring and integrating complementary businesses to become the largest company of its kind. We have three design centers in the U.S. along with 40 offices internationally, and nearly $1 billion in revenue.
TricorBraun is a leading source of rigid packaging, with extensive capabilities in package design and engineering, logistics, and international sourcing. Whether the need is glass manufacturing in the U.S., rigid plastic packaging in Asia, or a container manufacturer in Europe, TricorBraun works with clients step by step through the design and engineering phases to create a container that is practical, innovative, and appealing to the target market. Our selection also includes the largest library of stock molds in North America, enhanced by our considerable access to global resources. When it comes to rigid packaging, TricorBraun has established itself as the undisputed industry leader. We lead our industry because we focus on our customers, but success like ours begins with passionate and dedicated employees. Our genuine empathy and passion reflects the shared core values that define our culture. Across our organization we have unlimited opportunities for people looking to grow and succeed.
As a PACKAGING CONSULTANT, you'll hunt for opportunities within medium and large companies to create custom packaging that fits the specifications of your customers, calling on our design and support teams to help customers solidify their visions and turn those into reality. You'll build sales through a consultative process where you discover customer needs, determine whether those are best met through products we have in stock or custom products, bring in product experts if required, work with the design team to meet customer needs, and then work with customers on final product changes. Your key goal as a Packaging Consultant is to help customers master all the tricky details of packaging. We offer value-added packaging consulting services designed to boost the speed, efficiency and effectiveness of our customers' packaging operations. These services include Design & Innovation and knowledgeable consulting on logistics, global sourcing and localization, sustainability, and marketing.
You'll begin with a training program that spans classroom, online, and hands-on work with other consultants to learn our business, our industry, and the sales process. For the first year you'll work with other consultants to learn where to gain leads, how to best utilize our database, and how customer cycles work in this industry. The sales cycles are typically longer and may take anywhere from two months to over a year. Overnight travel will be rare, no more than 1-2 nights per month. You'll be based out of the office in the location closest to your territory along with the operational staff that will help to support you.
We're well known and respected in the packaging industry, which is very stable, and there's a lot of opportunity here. If you're hungry to build and grow a book of business, and you're confident enough in your skills to know that you could benefit from our uncapped commission, then this could be the right role for you!
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:
* Preferably a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of progressive sales experience.
* Multiple years of experience in consultative sales, working with medium to large businesses with sales cycles ranging from 3 months to 2 years.
* Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
* A strong ability to skillfully use a computerized system to track and monitor customer accounts, organize priorities and manage your calendar of events.
* A Strong working knowledge of all MSFT Suite products that include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
