JOB DESCRIPTION2ND SHIFT HOURS: 3pm - 11:30pm, Monday - Friday with Saturday's only as needed
3RD SHIFT HOURS: 11pm - 7:30am, Monday - Friday with Saturday's only as needed
PAY: $50,000 - $60,000, potential for 5% bonus
Responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with packaging of dietary supplement tablets, including setting plans, monitoring productivity, motivating associates and delivering results. Provides strategic and tactical direction and leadership for the operations team that he/she leads. Provides strategic and tactical guidance to the business unit that he/she supports. Also, responsible for adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring associate safety, and the quality and quantity of product produced. Ensures associate well-being through a holistic approach including safety, health, professional development, reward and recognition. Assigns daily tasks, monitors attendance and approves time-off for department associates. Responsible for creating a culture of high performing teams and continuous improvement. Additional specific responsibilities for the role include:
Coordinate all assignments for associates on the team. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines and equipment. Studies work schedules and estimates associate-hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Interprets work orders, specifications and procedures for associates, and assigns duties.
Coach the team to deliver improvements that drive business results and for personal development.
Champion safety, quality, production methods, equipment, performance, and efficiency. Assists in developing and implementing new procedures to improve efficiency. Reinforces standards.
Ownership of assigned KPI's for tracking and reporting.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists associates in solving work problems. Ensures escalation standard work is followed.
Maintains time, production and personnel records.
Manages in reviewing and granting time off requests.
Reviews all attendance and payroll entries made by the associates within the assigned department to ensure that time worked is accurate and correctly recorded.
Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as training, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
Assists, as necessary, in the recruitment, selection and orientation of new associates for the department.
Ensures that all department associates receive training, resources and hands-on direction necessary to perform their tasks effectively.
Ensures that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and standards are consistently maintained. SOP's are updated to reflect current best practice.
Provides leadership during regular shift and/or on Saturdays when required by the company.
Provides performance coaching, direct leadership and corrective action as warranted to ensure compliance with management directives, established policies and procedure, including safety rules and regulations.
Previous lead / supervision experience required (2-3 years).
Experience of manufacturing/packaging/warehouse (5+ years).
Knowledge of cGMP's. Preferred experience in food / beverage, dietary supplement or pharmaceutical industries.
Prefer demonstrated mechanical ability & technical aptitude
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in related field required (or equivalent experience) THEY DO PERFORM EDUCATION VERIFICATION
Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, TQM and HPO experience preferred.
Must be detail oriented and organized with good time management skills.
Must be flexible to changing priorities.
Must be able to read, write and speak English well enough to complete assigned tasks and communicate effectively.
Must have intermediate computer and math skills (including basic statistics).
Must have business and management knowledge and skills necessary to set direction and to define and execute a plan that achieves the required results.
Must work independently with minimal supervision. Display a strong sense of ownership for work.

Light level of physical effort required for a variety of physical activities to include walking, standing and sitting at a workstation.
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions.
Significant level of mental / visual effort required in order to assure accuracy of information entered to the mainframe of PC software.
Ability to see the letters and numbers on a PC screen and on paper documents (near vision).
Ability to talk to and hear persons contacted on the job and to present in front of team of associates
Moderate hand coordination for the use of the PC keyboard and operating material movement equipment
Work is subject to interruptions, which can produce stress and mental fatigue, high forklift traffic area, expose to high noise and heavy forklift traffic
