JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing a variety of legal research and projects, with a focus on litigation support. This position is also responsible for the preparation, filing, and/or organization of a variety of legal and other documents. This position works under the general supervision of the Associate .

1. Provide paralegal support including litigation management, subpoena response, contract review, and preparation of legal documents.
2. Perform routine legal projects and legal research with a minimal degree of supervision.
3. Conduct and analyze legal research, manage projects and present analysis and recommendations to in-house counsel.
4. Prepare and maintain contract ticklers, contract summaries, pending and closed litigation histories and other spreadsheets.
5. Prepare agreements and related documents for review by in-house counsel.
6. Initiate and maintain the licensure and/or registration of the Company's regulated services.
7. Comply with any ethical standards of the profession.
8. Support the General Counsel in the payment and tracking of all outside counsel bills.
9. Review and docket all intellectual property correspondence.
10. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
11. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws relating to healthcare, HIPAA, government programs, workers' compensation and auto medical programs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Training):
* Minimum Bachelor s degree; or 4 years experience in paralegal or related field
* Minimum 4 years experience in paralegal field. 5 years of relevant experience, strongly preferred.
* Research training in Lexis or Westlaw as well as Internet research required
* Paralegal certificate strongly preferred. Other required licensures, professional certifications, and/or Board certifications as applicable.
* Knowledge of legal and internet research methodologies
* Knowledge of regulatory environment and background in healthcare preferred
* Knowledge of the healthcare industry
* Knowledge of the workers' compensation industry
* Knowledge of the Property and Casualty industry
* Knowledge of Government Healthcare programs
* Knowledge of regulatory processes preferred
* Project management, attention to detail, analytical, proofreading, keyboard, problem solving, and organization skills
* Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
* Ability to multi task and prioritize in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
* Ability to use hardware, software, and peripherals related to job responsibilities including MS Word, ADOBE, and Excel
* Ability to keep the needs of external and internal customers as a priority when making decision and taking action
* Ability to convey information clearly and effectively
* Ability and commitment to provide excellent customer service
* Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
