Job Description

Jackson Lewis LLP is a nationwide law firm dedicated to representing management exclusively in workplace law and related litigation. With 48 offices and almost 700 attorneys, Jackson Lewis is seeking a Paralegal for the Washington DC Region office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Paralegal for the immigration group
• Enter employee/employer data into Immigration Tracker Database
• Prepare immigrant and non immigrant visa applications and petitions for corporate clients
• Liaison with CBP (Customs & Borders Protection) and USCIS
• Assist attorneys in obtaining non immigrant and immigrant visas from client intake to closing of matters
• Knowledge of DTE or other attorney billing system
• Conduct legal research for immigration matters
• Maintain/organize client files
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Educational Requirements:
• High school diploma required, 4-yr. college degree or paralegal certificate preferred
• 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal
• Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
• Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel & Outlook
• Creative problem solving skills, must be able to work independently, ability to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management
• Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with attorneys and support staff, strong client service attitude
• Flexibility to work overtime as necessary
