JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Part-Time Research Assistant - Bilingual (Cantonese or Mandarin / English) will assist with a one-year pilot project to assist and to enhance the quality of life of children with autism and their families and families within the Chinese immigrant community. The project's objectives also include promoting family and culturally centered principles within health professional education and practice; and supporting diversity within the health workforce and workforce development. The incumbent must follow university policies and procedures, and maintain confidentiality of information related to this project.
The responsibilities of the Research Assistant include: communicating with stakeholders regarding project activities; coordinating and communicating scheduling activities for families, students, community advocates, and faculty; assisting with collecting and organizing data in the project database system; managing administrative functions associated with the project; attending and providing updates during project meetings; and assisting with document and report preparation. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least six months of related research experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel or similar software programs.
*Demonstrated bilingual skills (Cantonese or Mandarin) skills.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to use various forms of communication exchange (e.g. phone, email, and text).
*Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with client, staff, faculty and student populations.
*Strong problem solving skills.
*Ability to travel to locally and to locations that may not be accessible via public transportation, as required.
This is a Part-Time Grant Funded Position at approximately 10 hours per week.
This Position will require a background check.
