JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Patient Care Associate opportunities are available on the the Post Anesthesia Care Units. The Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) at MGH are comprised of 5 individual critical care areas (Ellison 3, White 3, Lunder 2, 3 and 4) dedicated to the care of adult and pediatric patients preceding and immediately following surgery and/or procedures requiring anesthesia. PCA assists multi-disciplinary health care team by assisting patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKGs.
Two shifts are available: 40 hours, evenings and 40 hours, rotating all shifts - Current CNA certificate for Massachusetts and previous experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.
- Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self.
