JOB SUMMARY:Maximizes the benefit of person-to-person contact at the beginning of the patients hospital experience to resolve accounts quickly and efficiently. Reviews all Emergency Room and requested Outpatient self-pay liability patient accounts. Interacts with the patients and guarantors during the patients stay, where possible, to establish payment arrangements for self-pay liability. Finalizes payment arrangements within 14 days of discharge. Assist patient/guarantor with the Medicaid application process. Assists patient/guarantor in the Charity Care application process to completion. The position assists the patients in meeting their financial obligation to the hospital through various programs offered by Pocono Medical Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:Associate s Degree or equivalent experience required. Two years recent healthcare business office experience required.
Knowledge of Medicare and Medical Assistance billing regulations required.
Knowledge of coding conventions (i. e.: HCPC, CPT4) used for Medicare and Medical Assistance billing required.
Keyboard navigation shills required.
Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external contacts required
Working knowledge of Word and Excel preferred.
Previous electronic billing experience preferred. Full time Rotating shift Associates degree required
