JOB DESCRIPTIONThe PSC III position is part of the MGH Cancer Center-Boston practice located in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The incumbent must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities of a PSC I and II.
Coordinates the scheduling of multiple appointments using multiple systems and resources.
Identifies/communicates to the Practice's leadership issues of process creating inefficiences within the operation. Assists in their resolution, working with the team and with management for the department as a whole.
Assists with workflow and schedules to insure an efficient daily operation.
Troubleshoots workflow issues as needed.
Assists with special projects as required. Projects may include compliance, hospital issues, and/or Operations Improvement Initiatives.
Demonstrates experience to interface with various levels of the practice, especially with the knowledge and issues related to managed care.
Knowledge of EPIC, electronic medical record system.
Ability to work independently, with limited supervision, resolve issues, and possess strong organizational skills.
Demonstrates effective and efficient interpersonal and communication skills.
Effectively interacts with all levels of management.
Demonstrates knowledge of HIPAA Confidentiality and Privacy policies.
Demonstrates an understanding of Disaster protocols to include: fire, safety, code calls, per the mandatory training, as outlined by MGH and JCAHO guidelines.
Ability to cover co-workers areas during absences, vacations, and assist with overloaded work areas as needed.
Associate's Degree in Secretarial Science/Business, or a Secretarial Training Certificate Program strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3 years work experience in medical group practice, billing and/or managed care setting required.
