Patient Service Representative, SDS/PAT

.Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Patient Access Manager, the Patient Service Representative, in Pre-Admission Testing & Same Day Surgery performs patient admission/registration activities in accordance with established hospital and departmental regulations, policies and procedures. This position is responsible and skilled for providing Patient Service coverage in both Pre-Admission Testing and Same Day Surgery departments.

Regulatory Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. One to three years relevant experience preferred, including knowledge of admitting and registration policies and procedures. Detailed knowledge of department locations and services provided at Central Maine Medical Center preferred
Skills: Proficient skills with personal computers and word processing. Able to communicate effectively with professional staff, families and patients. Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrates a keen understanding of the significant patient safety implications of maintaining a unique patient identifier in the electronic medical record environment. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
This per diem will be trained to help cover in PAT area. Hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Employee will also cover in Same Day Surgery area. Hours are 5:30 am to 2:00 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Per-Diem Day shift
