span B Payroll Accountant Job in Brea, CA - $20-25hr /B br Experienced payroll accountant with GAAP knowledge, proficiency on month end closing and analyzing financial data. Processes and submits full cycle employee weekly and bi-weekly payroll via ADP in compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, as well as payroll tax reporting and calculates commissions. br   br JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE br • Performs a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities timely and accurately - including computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions.   br • Reconciles automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions. br • Calculates and prepares general ledger entries.   br • Participates in the preparation and filing of multi-state and federal tax reports.   br • Prepares requested payroll reports for management. br • Prepares month-end closing, prepares journal entries, ensuring payroll is properly reported. br • Updates balance sheet accounts. br • Assists with external and internal financial and regulatory reporting br • Maintains policies, procedures and controls necessary to ensure general and cost accounting records in compliance with general accepted accounting principles. br • Calculates and processes monthly commissions. br • Assists in year-end audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and organization and review of supporting documentation for audit. br • Processes weekly payroll, including the calculation of deductions and net pay. br • Processes garnishment and levy deductions and any payroll non-recurring items to comply with company policy and state and federal law; br • Monitors changes and remains current on legal, regulatory or governmental requirements (e.g., wage and hour, garnishments, employee relocation, tax matters, 401(k) and other benefit deductions). br • Performs additional duties, as assigned by management. br   br EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES br • Bachelor degree in accounting, or equivalent field required. br • At least 3 years payroll accounting experience br • Prior experience with the processing of ADP payroll and payroll taxes is required br • ADP Workforce Now experience, big plus br • Thorough knowledge of state and federal payroll regulations br • Strong knowledge of GAAP and all aspects of the accounting cycle br • Detail oriented, adheres to deadlines, excellent communication skills br • Computer knowledge/experience (spreadsheets, database and word processing). br • Must be able to multi-task during monthly close processes br • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing br • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information and issue br   br If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply online and or send your updated resume to br   br /span
