Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Provides Payroll and Administrative support to Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) and the UCSB CIO. OCIO & ETS activities include an estimated $15M/year in non-recharge operations, and $4.6M/year in recharge operations.
Responsible for all facets of payroll administration for ETS. Responsible for the interpretation of UC policies, collective bargaining agreements, providing information and counseling to employees on matters relating to payroll actions. Serves as the liaison with various units in the campus Accounting Office, Business Services, and ETS units.

Oversees staff providing CIO support and provides backup as necessary.

Provides administrative support to the CIO and ETS Administrative unit.

Minimum Requirements
- Experience working with executive management.
-Experience with payroll, on-line timekeeping systems and travel reimbursements.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to serve as a department resource.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral.

Desirable Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the principles, practices, and trends of management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of UC policies and procedures, especially in the areas of finance and personnel/HR.
- Familiarity with UCSB financial and personnel policies.

Payroll Administration
Processes monthly and bi-weekly payroll for more than 100 career staff, and approximately 5 student (casual restricted) employees.

Provides guidance to management and employees on University policies and procedures regarding payroll, overtime compensation, and merit and range adjustments. Serves as a resource on all payroll matters including interpretation of federal, state and UC policies and procedures pertaining to payroll; vacation accrual and use; overtime compensations; and, payroll and leave reporting.

Performs departmental PPS transactions, including entering of employment information, ensuring appointment percentages and funding information are accurate. Reviews and audits Personnel Payroll System (PPS) transactions for monthly payroll and bi-weekly and responsible for late payroll transactions. Oversees the maintenance of various internal record-keeping systems for payroll transactions.

Independently set up or modify employees profile in Kronos upon hire, reclassification, and change in leave accrual or time code. Reports variable and hourly payroll, audits Kronos time cards for all employees.

Reviews and audits leave reporting. Ensures hours reported meet campus and state requirements. Maintains knowledge of UC policies and union agreements related to overtime, vacation and sick leave accrual and use. Reviews separations of students, limited and
