Constituency Management Group (CMG) is a wholly-owned unit of The Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE: IPG), the worlds leading marketing communications company. We seek to fill the role of a Payroll Manger in our New York, NY office.

This position is responsible for all aspects of domestic payroll transactions, ensuring the integrity of data in our payroll system, manages payroll coordinators and reports to the Vice President of Compensation, Analytics & Planning. The position requires strategic thinking and effective verbal and written communication skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

PeopleSoft entry for all HR actions (hiring, promotions, pay rate changes,terminations, etc.) for all domestic offices
Responsible for creating and maintaining confidential personnel files
Responsible for managing the routing and tracking of all personnel actions
Verify employment status for current and former employees
Manage payroll projects such as periodic personnel file archiving, signature card process
Lead contact person for trouble shooting complex payroll issues.
Liaise with Corporate Payroll to resolve issues
Educate HR generalists to ensure that Corporate Payroll receives correct and complete paperwork for each HR action.
Ability to find creative ways to tackle payroll issues, while following company policy
Manage payroll coordinators to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Validate data entered by establishing periodic audits
Set up guidelines for best practices involving all steps in payroll process
Other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience
2 3 years of experience in managing a payroll department
Advanced PeopleSoft skills, strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite software
General HR knowledge

Detail oriented with consistent follow-through
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
High degree of discretion and confidentiality required
Ability to multi-task, change priorities and work effectively under pressure
Good problem solving and decision making skills and a flexible working style
