Join a large, well established pediatric hospitalist program at Christiana Care Health System. Opportunities exist in our traditional pediatric hospitalist role, serving both Christiana Hospital and Bayhealth s Kent General Hospital. We are considering part and full time pediatric and medicine pediatric hospitalists for these roles.
As a member of Christiana Pediatric Hospitalists or Christiana Pediatric Hospitalists at Bayhealth, you will provide family-centered care to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Inpatient Unit, Mother-Baby Unit, and the Emergency Department at both Christiana Hospital and Kent General Hospital. Both campuses feature 24/7 in-house pediatric hospitalist coverage, serving the hospitals smallest patients and their families around the clock. At Christiana Hospital and Milford Memorial Hospital, you will also attend high risk deliveries. Hospitalists use protected, non-clinical time to help lead initiatives and collaborate with our teams to improve quality and safety for pediatric patients at both facilities.

As the largest academic institution in the state Pediatric faculty will have the opportunity to teach Med-Peds residents, Internal Medicine residents, combined Emergency Medicine-Internal Medicine, Pediatric residents Family Medicine Residents and medical students (Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University), in addition to physician assistant and nurse practitioner students. Christiana Care is one of the largest health care providers in the nation, ranking 21st for hospital admissions, and is one of only 15 major teaching hospitals to be rated in the 100 Top Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters).

Christiana Care is located in northern Delaware, approximately 40 miles outside Philadelphia. With close proximity to multiple urban centers (Wilmington, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, New York), the beaches, and tax-free shopping, Delaware is a great place to live. Housing options include condominiums on the riverfront in Wilmington, modern homes in the surrounding suburbs, and more rural settings. Delaware is also the home to the international headquarters for DuPont and the U.S. headquarters for AstraZeneca. Cultural opportunities include multiple theaters that feature traveling Broadway shows, a symphony, opera and ballet, and museums. Nearby Philadelphia is the home to several professional sports teams; there is also minor league level baseball in Wilmington and collegiate games at the University of Delaware. Delaware also has many state parks that make for good hiking, jogging, cycling, and kayaking.
