Per Diem Infusion Nurse Job Opportunity

We offer the special opportunity for our Infusion Nurses to create and build upon a one on one relationship with the patients and their caregivers through providing instructional and educational training on self-infusion, disease process, therapy management, potential side effects of therapy and emergency preparedness procedures

The Per Diem Infusion Nurse will drive to patient's home with in an assigned territory on a pre-scheduled basis providing specialized intravenous therapies ( PIC Line, Peripheral Line) and professional specialty pharmaceutical nursing services. The Per Diem Infusion Nurse participates in continuing quality improvement activities by performing initial/ongoing evaluation of the patient's needs.

This Per Diem role offers a competitive hourly rate that is paid for drive and patient time along with mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate. Flexible scheduling is a plus and can be subject to weekends as needed.

1. Performs intravenous therapies (IVIG, Alpha One) or other specialty pharmaceutical nursing functions for assigned patients in conjunction with physician orders and monitors client charts to ensure compliance with the physician's Plan of Treatment, regulatory standards, professional standards of practice, JCAHO standards and Company policies.
2. Documents all assessment, teaching activities, nursing care, response to intravenous therapy and status of disease process. Submits documentation in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
3. Recognizes and responds appropriately to client's changing needs. Collaborates, communicates and confers regularly with the appropriate branch staff regarding patient status.
4. Acts as a liaison between the patient, physician, branch staff and community in assuring effective nursing care.

Branch Location: Chantilly, VA

Coverage area: West, VA
Hours: Per Diem (must be willing to work a minimum of 15 hours per week)

Requirements:
Required Education and Experience: Associate's degree or diploma in nursing or equivalent and 1 year nursing experience, including 1 year specialized registered nurse experience in acute or home care environment. Completion of intravenous skill inventory/training and strong venous access skills required.
