The pharmacist documents and reports patient outcomes and provides clinical support to management and the sales staff.Specific Responsibilities include:1. Dispenses pharmaceuticals including biotech drugs, ancillary supplies and other related supplies and medical equipment to patients with chronic health problems. 2. Coordinates clinical pharmacy patient care and/or pharmacy production activities.3. Reviews/monitors prescription medications to determine the appropriateness of therapy/drug interactions as assigned. Provides drug information, counsels patients, adheres to state/federal licensure requirements/regulations and maintains required paperwork as directed.4. Communicates identified inventory need with warehouse department.5. Keeps abreast of latest developments concerning new therapies, technologies, or developments reported from current medical and pharmacy literature regarding biotech drug therapy and disease management.6. Provides clinical consultations and information regarding services, pharmaceuticals and patients to physicians and other health care professionals. Conducts presentations as assigned.7. Documents quality control measures, participates in Continuing Quality/Improvement program and ensures that pharmacies are in compliance with all standards. Ensures adherence to pharmacy state/federal licensure requirements/regulations and maintains required paperwork.8. Ensures compliance to ?pharmacy law?, in dispensing to states in which the company is doing business. Monitors pharmacy activities to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.9. Provides direction to Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
Requirements:
Required Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in pharmacy. Minimum of one year prior Pharmacist experience. Preferred Education and Experience:Pharmacy degree and a minimum of one year prior Pharmacist experience preferred.Position requires the ability to work in a team setting with excellent clinical, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.Must maintain excellent patient care while building strong physician and payor relationships. Must have ability to work in a fast paced environment, manage multiple priorities and lead a team. Must be committed to the highest standard of regulatory, payor and corporate compliance. Position requires excellent documentation and computer skills with prior experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Prior experience in home infusion and/or specialty pharmacy preferred. Must possess a Pharmacist license in good standing. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, M/F/D/V
