ABOUT THE POSITION:
The successful candidate will provide the assurance that the Performance Excellence (Lean) Roadmap and Blueprint is being deployed and sustained effectively, while delivering process improvements within our end to end processes that support the overall Performance Excellence Strategy.
As a Performance Excellence Manager / Practitioner, the candidate will interact with the broad leadership team and subject matter experts to develop solutions that improve performance by increasing productivity, efficiency, managing process demand while enhancing the customer experience through this cultural performance transformation.
You will transfer capability into the Leadership and Practitioner communities in order to embed and sustain a performance excellence culture within and across functions, resulting in the delivery of continuous improvement, value creation for Customers and the Company and engaged employees.
The candidate will be expected to support the following strategic and support activities within NATIONAL GRID to drive value and performance:
Performance Excellence (PEx):
This role involves working with the management to support the development and implementation of NATIONAL S GRID Performance Excellence Strategy. The candidate will personally help to support teams on PEx and ensure that the new ways of working are established and followed.You will transfer capability into the Global Procurement community, helping to embed and sustain a strong performance excellence culture, resulting in the delivery of continuous improvement and value creation.
Project and Program Management
The role will include managing and facilitating teams on small to medium LEAN projects to drive efficiency and value. Responsibilities include:
-Coaching & facilitating teams to deliver projects across functions
-Organizing and facilitating workshops to define issues and develop solutions
-Manage medium to large programs through to delivery
-Ability to craft & deliver presentations to management level
The individual will be expected to manage delivery of several projects during the year, with use of appropriate resources and team members, to streamline and improve processes.
POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
*Lead LEAN projects acting as an internal consultant to make professional recommendations for business improvements, while facilitating / coaching others on LEAN techniques
*Delivering significant operational improvements and financial benefits to meet annual targets
*Execute complex process improvement initiatives affecting multiple functions or businesses, with a focus on driving cost and complexity reduction
*Working directly with leaders and staff to lead, support & guide process improvement, with a drive towards high quality results
*Act as a change agent/coach to instil and sustain changes
*Engage people and develop them through team work, training, mentorship and a high level of participation
Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How:
1.0 Process Improvement
*Experience or strong understanding of LEAN techniques & transformation (Such as a Unipart Blueprint, McKinsey Business Transformation etc)
*Coach, mentor and assist project team
*Identify and manage project risks and issues that impact project progress
*Identify and develop practical solutions and methodologies to solve complex business problems
*Ensure deployment of common solutions across the business to deliver significant business results
*Develop and share best practices among fellow Performance Excellence Manger / Practitioner

*Partner with Finance to develop and track project metrics
*Monitor performance and improvement in key metrics
*Deliver significant operational improvement and financial benefits to meet annual targets

*Ability to build, monitor, sustain stakeholder engagement and correct when necessary
Requires a BA or BS degree or higher in an engineering, finance, business, or technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
Black Belt or Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and / or LEAN (desirable)
Travel (If Applicable):
Travel is required for this position within the State of Mass, NY and RI.
