Perioperative Nurse Educator

The Perioperative Nurse Educator assesses, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates nursing education programs and initiatives to meet the educational needs of the perioperative nursing staff. This position supports the educational needs of perioperative nursing staff by providing the educational basis for high quality clinical performance in the perioperative care setting, which includes OR, PACU, OPCU, ASU, and PAT. Coverage includes the main campus as well as surgery center sites.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Health Education or similar field required, Masters degree preferred
CNOR or equivalent certification can substitute for Masters Degree
A minimum of three to five years nursing experience in a perioperative setting
Teaching skills including curriculum development, learning/ teaching principles and classroom skills are desirable
Current NYS licensure and registration as a Registered Professional Nurse
Current BLS certification is required
CNOR, or equivalent, is required. Will accept CNOR within 6 months of hire if application for test has been submitted.
