Overview:
Strategic Resources, Inc. (SRI) is an international, ISO 9001:2008 Certified, CMMI Level 3 Rated full service provider with more than 28 years experience in the Federal, military, and commercial marketplaces. SRI is seeking experienced Personal Financial Counselors.

The successful candidate for a Personal Financial Counselor position will work full-time with Service Members and their Families on personal financial issues such as budget planning, credit management and debt reduction, as well as retirement and estate planning. The majority of Service Members and their Families will require financial counseling and education to assist with establishing a basic level of financial literacy, good financial behavior and habits, long term financial planning to include retirement planning. These full-time positions will be located on military installations throughout the continental Unites States and selected overseas locations.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
Identifies immediate and long-range measures to increase income, reduce household expenditures, and avoid additional financial burdens.
Provides personal budget/financial planning to reduce, eliminate, and avoid debt and to achieve solvency and stability.
Teaches money management techniques.
Provides understanding of credit, finance charges, interest rates and the implications of only paying the minimum amount each month.
Educates on the importance of maintaining excellent credit histories and ratings.
Establishes, monitors, and shows Service Members how to protect their credit.
Demonstrates how to make informed decisions and to be aware of associated costs such as insurance, maintenance, fuel costs, etc.
Educates and provides counseling on retirement systems and provides financial models to assist in the establishing of comprehensive retirement plan.
Assists with tax planning.
Teaches how to save for emergencies, unanticipated contingencies, and for short-term and long-term goals.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Skills, Education, Experience & Abilities:
Bachelor s degree in finance, financial planning, or related field.
Must maintain a national certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), or a national certification with the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC).
Minimum of two years of experience providing financial counseling services.
The ability and ethical foundation to provide financial planning services which meets DoD standards and assist service members and their families with personal financial readiness.
Understanding of the military lifestyle and the ability to work with family programs and/or advocacy services, military or civilian social service agencies, and with military family members.
Working knowledge of military, state, federal, and local resources and the ability to work cooperatively with military and civilian financial support organizations, installation Personal Financial Program Managers (PFM), social services, and legal personnel on behalf of Service Members and their Families.
Ability to develop trusting helping relationships and work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, Access,
PowerPoint and Outlook.

Individuals in this position may be subject to a government security investigation and
must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
